The consumer unit is the updated term of a fuse box. A consumer unit is the main control center for a home’s electrical supply. It consists of the following components:
- A Main Switch to turn off the power to your home.
- An MCB for each circuit which will switches itself off when it detects that a circuit overload. When the fault has cleared, you witch it back on. MCBs (miniature circuit breakers) are reliable and safe.
